A woman sitting comfortably in a round cushioned papasan chair, smiling and opening a plastic bag. There is a plastic container with assorted items in her lap. Behind her is a window with sunlight, and a sign on the windowsill reads 'TEE'S LOUNGE BE NICE OR LEAVE.' The door next to her is slightly open, revealing a room behind it. The room has wooden floors and nearby furniture.

I’m Sofia!

I’m a queer mixed media artist living in Hillsborough, North Carolina.

I love teaching intuitive embroidery workshops, where students can experience the flow of art creation in the moment. My workshops create a non-judgmental community space for encouragement and connection.

I also sells original adorned clothing and other hand crafted items at small markets around the triangle in NC.

I have a very feisty dog who rules my life. When I am not taking care of my dog I am dancing, creating art, or spending time with my beloveds (hopefully all at the same time).

You can find all upcoming workshops listed here on my website!

the process

All hoops you see here are handmade and one of a kind. I don’t replicate designs or make the same thing twice. The majority of my designs are created spontaneously without a pre-drawn design.

If you want to learn more about my process/how to create your own, come to one of my workshops!

I try to use as much recycled material as possible
